Grant Program Update

From 2023 to end of 2025, AMAD implemented a grant program funded by the European Union with the goal of supporting micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) in Afghanistan in overcoming access to finance challenges. The program was a success: 1,701 MSMEs received a non-repayable grant, and a total of EUR 4.9 million in grants was disbursed. All major program targets were met.

The grant program has now concluded. There are currently no grants available through AMAD.

However, AMAD is currently preparing a follow-up project, again funded by the European Union, which will include a new grant component. The new AMAD grant program is planned to launch in the second half of 2026. The program foresees to provide EUR 3m in grants to 750 MSMEs, carefully selected considering their alignment to the impact objectives.

Detailed information on eligibility criteria, the application and selection process, and the steps to obtain a grant will be published on this website in the coming months. Please check back regularly for updates.
